International Education Cooperation----From Yunnan Normal University
Yunnan Normal University actively participates in the internationalization of higher education, and its international influence continues to expand. The school adheres to the principle of openly running the school and actively carrying out international cooperations and promoting international academic and cultural exchanges . After years of efforts, it has established a positive, open and dynamic system of international cooperation and exchange.
In order to achieve he strategic goal of establishing a first-class university in Yunnan Province, the university focuses on strengthening the communication with foreign universities, and exploring various forms of international cooperation, aiming at building up a high level of faculty team, training talents who can meet the social needs and can adapt to the internationalization, especially cultivating talents who can participate in international competition. At present, the university has established friendly and cooperative relations with about 100 universities and government agencies from 18 counties and regions, such as the United States, Japan, Canada and UK etc.The university has signed agreements in various forms with foreign universities and scientific research institutes in order to promote joint training programs, personnel exchanges and academic cooperation.
A. Cooperation with Canada
1. Since 2009, the university has established cooperative relations with four universities in Canada, and signed the memorandum of inter-school cooperation with York University, University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Royal Roads University, Canada.
2. In October 2008, the school set up the Yunnan Normal University Canadian Studies Center.
B. Cooperation with USA
1. As of May 2014, the school has signed 5 university cooperation and exchange agreements with 5 American universities.
2. The Sino-American 1+2+1 program

C. Cooperation with UK
1. The school has signed 6 university cooperation and exchange agreements with 6 British universities.
2. Yunnan Normal University and the University of Cambridge have built a Joint laboratory of “solar energy conversion - storage materials and devices”.
D. Cooperation with Ireland
In March 2014, with the help of Australia Education Management Group, Yunnan Normal University, together with National College of Ireland, has set up the programs of training accounting professionals.
E. Cooperation with Spain
1. In March 2014, School of Foreign Languages & Literature in YNNU and RoviraI Virgill University in spain has signed a cooperation agreement which made the future cooperation in science, technology, education and administrative management from both sides possible.
2. In April 2014, YNNU and King Juan Carlos University in Spain signed a cooperation framework agreement;
F. Cooperation with Sweden

In 2010, the Office of International Relations in YNNU introduced Swedish Linnaeus-Palm Project, which is supervised by the Office of International Programs attached to Swedish Ministry of Education. The project mainly focuses on South Asia, especially for China and India to promote economic, educational, scientific and technical communication. The Institute of education in Malmo University and Yunnan Normal University jointly agreed to cooperate in teachers’ training and students’ exchange.

2. In September 2016, YNNU signed a cooperation agreement with Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Blekinge Province, Sweden.
G. Cooperation with Czech Republic
In 2014, the school signed a cooperation agreement with Palacky University, Czech Republic.
H. Cooperation with France
In September 2011, YNNU and the French IPAG group signed the cooperation agreement.
I. Cooperation with Australia
1. Until August 2014, YNNU has signed cooperation agreements with six Australian universities.
2. In 2014, YNNU and University of Tasmania have set up a Graduate School, and a “China-Australia Cross-Cultural Research Center”.
J. Cooperation with New Zealand
On June 25, 2013, YNNU signed a tripartite inter-agency educational strategic cooperation agreement with Lincoln University in New Zealand and the New Zealand School of Business. YNNU and the Massey University also signed a cooperation agreement to implement the "2 + 2" undergraduate program and , "3 + 1 + 2 " continuous studying program.
K. Cooperation with Asian Countries
YNNU also has established cooperations with many universities in Asian countries,such as Japan, India, Sri-lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos etc.
In September, 2016, YNNU has signed two Memorandums of Understanding with two universities from two Arab countries, Jordan and Lebanon to promote the friendship between Chinese people and people in the Arab world.
YNNU has already had diverse cooperation forms, such as sending students overseas to broaden their visions, introducing foreign intelligence to YNNU, and dispatching teachers to study abroad...etc The international cooperations between YNNU and various famous universities around the world have become one of the focal points of the future development of YNNU. The university will continuously maintain and strengthen international relations and cooperations in various fields.
In the future, YNNU is seeking opportunities for further international cooperations with Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Middle East countries and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.
